Welcome to The Herald’s NIE Program:
Newspapers in Education (NIE) is a national program that helps teachers incorporate newspapers into classrooms as a way to improve reading and writing skills and help students understand how current events shape the world we live in.
The Herald's Newspaper in Education is available online. Instead of receiving printed copies in your classroom, you and your students can access The Herald's daily edition right on your computer seven days a week. You'll also have access to archived editions and many teaching resources including Parade Classroom.
Thanks to partnerships with local businesses that sponsor the NIE program and generous contributions from readers, the NIE program is free to teachers exclusively online. There are, however, a limited number of subscriptions available.
Register now or email nie@heraldonline.com for more information
To find out how to participate, contact NIE Coordinator, Michelle Reid, at 803-329-4019 or mreid@heraldonline.com.
